With each tea tree in its natural form so well taken care of; the soil extremely rich, dark and fertile; the shading so extensive; and the harvesting so careful it’s handpicked only once each year - ‘Single flush tea’ is the rarest, most valuable Japanese tea of all. The only farms skillful and effortful enough to still do it this way are the ones conserving traditional Japanese crafts. Humbly, we pay homage to these few honorable farmers.
How to Store Matcha to Preserve Quality
The colder the storage, the fresher the matcha stays.
Storage Guidelines
- Regular use — Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months
- Occasional use — Store in the freezer for up to 1 year
Before Opening — Let It Reach Room Temperature First
Opening cold matcha exposes it to condensation, causing moisture damage. Always let it warm up before unsealing.
- From refrigerator → Rest at room temperature until fully warmed before opening
- From freezer → Transfer to refrigerator for 1 hour → Then rest at room temperature before opening
After Use — Seal It Properly
- Squeeze out all air from the bag before closing
- Seal the zip-lock tightly
- Place inside an airtight container
- Return to the refrigerator or freezer immediately
